My second true love…

So you all know about my first love…

It is definitely not my husband! 🤣

No No No!

It is my S60 drill from Berchtold.

(And you can read all about that one here)

I think my husband is probably my fifth or sixth in line where love is concerned! The feeling is mutual!

Yes I know I am material girl (a true Madonna fan and now my brain has these lyrics in my head that I can’t get stop singing them!)

'Cause we are living in a material world
And I am a material girl
You know that we are living in a material world
And I am a material girl’

And I have always loved the finer things in life. It reminds me of a family member who was and still is, very much in love with all his cars and trucks. I think the partner may make it in top 10, if they are lucky!

I am in love for the second time! So what is my second love, I hear you ask?

I know the suspense is killing you but give me time – I need to describe this love of mine and I have just come out of hibernation too so the grey matter takes a while to warm up!

What is love?

Love is an emotion

It means different thing to everyone, depending on the circumstances. It has several meanings and it can be interpreted in so many ways but the one thing for sure is that we all know when we feel it.

And I can feel it now towards my second love. It is possible to love more than one thing and my true love is not jealous of the second because it aids me in my work place.

So how does this second love make me feel?

When you are in love- there is an increase of certain hormones and decrease of other hormone to enable you to feel good and to "obsess about your lover and consistently reflect back on the times spent together”. Donatella Marazziti, of the University of Pisa, as cited in Deborah Khoshaba's article.

It feels super easy

We all know it takes time to build up a relationships, but when you fall for it, you don’t mind the work because you love them and enjoy doing the work. Which means it is not really work!

You feel comfortable with making little sacrifices for them because I know in the long run it will be highly beneficial.

It makes me feel safe when you're around them

It's hard to describe this feeling, but it really is the best thing in the world. Like nothing bad can ever happen.

It makes me feel lighter and has made my life so much easier!

I have also become environmentally friendly ….

Which means I am going paperless.

So what might this second love be?

I am the proud owner of a cloud-based practice management application for my patients called Cliniko.

It has everything I need; calendar, patient data, clinic notes, invoices, templates, reports, etc. It is still very user friendly even someone like me who is not very tech savvy managed to set it up all by myself.

It works anywhere in the world and it has a wonderful sense of humour with welcoming notes like 'Cliniko even works from the beach'.

This is the perfect accompaniment to my practice. It streamlines all the processes with a few clicks. There are a few advantages to having this system in place because it creates a smooth journey from the minute the patient calls. I am able to book them as soon as they call and I don’t have to be in my clinic. I am able fill in the health questionnaire whilst on the phone, or send it to them on email, and I don’t have to scan it in. They can send it straight back to on email and I can attach it to their notes.

It also saves me time in clinic as I don’t have to remove all the paper notes before the day begins, and nor do I have to start fretting because the notes are misfiled under the wrong name and most importantly, I don’t  have to mutter the alphabet under my breath each time. I know it sounds ridiculous but it causes some serious stress rummaging through cabinet.

It means that I don’t have to scroll through my completely illegible writing before the patient arrives and ultimately it allows me to do the thing I love most – spend more time with my patients to help them with their foot problem.

As you can imagine, there are lots on online software platforms available for health professionals to use. Having worked in several other clinics, I had the opportunity to work with different platforms but when it came to my own clinic, I fell in love with Cliniko because it has a clean interface. It is simple, easy to navigate and user friendly for the administrator and for the clinician. The online support is excellent; no question is too big or small to answer and you can expect a prompt and detailed response, especially for someone like me, who needs to verify it a few times over.

When I initially started using them, I was very nervous but they were physically there to guide me. Most of the other platforms suggested I download it for a trial period and play around it, but suffering from technophobia, I found this hard to do so I explained my concerns to Cliniko and I was lucky enough to be guided in real time.

Having read the reviews and searching for the best one, I felt inclined to go with Cliniko and I am thoroughly pleased with my choice.

If you have a foot problem, please get in touch.

(And if you have a foot problem and you like a cool piece of software, then definitely get in touch).
